As the new year begins, I find myself pausing — not to rush into resolutions, but to reflect. Because this January marks something big for me.
I’ve completed my MA in Marketing & Digital Communications ,and with it, a chapter of deep learning, unlearning, growth, doubt, clarity, and courage has come to a close.
This journey hasn’t just shaped my career. It’s reshaped me.
More Than a Qualification
When I started my MA, I wasn’t just looking to “level up” professionally. I was searching for alignment — between my values, my creativity, my ethics, and the kind of impact I want my work to have in the world.
Over the course of my studies, I explored:
Ethical and compassionate marketing
Digital storytelling that centres humans, not just metrics
The tension between innovation (AI, AR, immersive tech) and responsibility
How marketing can amplify voices, not exploit them
I learned that good marketing isn’t loud. It’s thoughtful, inclusive, emotionally intelligent, and honest.
Studying While Living a Full, Real Life
This MA happened alongside motherhood, work, freelancing, neurodiversity, advocacy, self-discovery, and the everyday realities of life.
There were deadlines met late at night. Assignments written after woodland walks and school runs. Moments of imposter syndrome… followed by moments of “oh — I actually know what I’m doing.”
And that matters. Because I now know I don’t need to fit into a traditional mould to succeed. I get to build my own.
What This Journey Gave Me
Completing my MA has given me:
Confidence in my strategic thinking
A stronger ethical compass in digital communications
The language to articulate why purpose-led marketing matters
A deeper trust in my own voice
Most importantly, it reaffirmed something I already felt in my bones:
Marketing can be a force for good — when it’s rooted in empathy, integrity, and imagination.
New Year. New Energy. Same Values.
So “New Year, New Me” doesn’t mean a total reinvention.
It means:
Owning my expertise
Backing my ideas
Choosing projects that align with my values
Continuing to work with organisations creating meaningful change
I’m stepping into this next chapter as a qualified MA graduate, a marketer, a storyteller, a parent, an advocate — and someone deeply committed to doing this work with heart.
Looking Ahead
This year, I’m focused on:
Ethical digital campaigns
Purpose-led brands and organisations
Vegan, environmental, and social impact work
Inclusive storytelling and accessible communications
Continuing to explore how technology and humanity can coexist
If you’re here reading this — whether you’re a collaborator, client, student, or fellow “non-linear path” human — thank you for being part of this journey.
Here’s to growth that feels grounded. Here’s to work that means something. Here’s to the next chapter!
